I am only one,
but I am one.
I can't do everything, but I can do something.
And I will not allow the everything that I can't do
to stop me
from doing the something that I can do
I'm only one
but I am one.
The quote above is from a recently published book I've just finished reading called Church Zero by Peyton Jones.
This quote awakened something inside me because I tend to see all that I am incapable of doing or I feel I'm not equipped to do even though I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I can focus on what God has placed in me instead of what I lack.
There are so many examples in the Bible of God using one person to make a huge difference in many lives. I want to get myself out of the way and focus on what I have through God as one person impacting another person.
Colossians 2:7
I have the roots of my being firmly and deeply planted in Him.
I am fixed and founded on Him.
I am being continually built up in Him
I am becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith just as I was taught.
I will abound and overflow in it with thanksgiving.
